Day 299 of 365
8,111 feet
I live at 751 feet.
I'm in Colorado and I've got a Rocky Mountain high, on life.
For my 299th experience I took a long hit of bottled oxygen.
I'm not 100% sure this makes a difference while I'm resting beside a roaring river in Mount Princeton. This is the first Colorado visit of my 365 day adventure. I had planned for more but I have to stay in the NOW.
My day started at 3:30am. I flew to Denver, Co by way of Nashville, TN. Don't ask questions, I'm not sure how this is economical but I went about 550 miles south to go 1,000 west. It's a head scratcher.
Why is this important? I'm well over a mile above my Wisconsin altitude. I figured this would be my chance to hit the oxygen bottle hard.
I saw an photo on the wall of the train at the Denver airport advertising "Boost Oxygen." I didn't think much about it until we were driving into the mountains. It was a silly joke but after a wonderfully informative conversation with "Siri" I found the product at a local grocery store.
As I hold this can in my hand I realize that I paid $15 for air. I bought a can of air. It's all around me. This might just be the silliest experience so far.
I took a hit and it was like spraying myself in the face with the air compressor hose in my barn.
It's oxygen.
Oxygen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas essential to living organisms.
