Day 237 of 365
Getting schooled.
I've got a pile of old comic books in my house. I don't know much about them so I decided to take a trip to the local comic book store and get an education.
I watch The Big Bang Theory. The characters are always standing around in a comic book store and drooling over whatever it is they are reading. The problem with comic books as I see it, it takes 20 issues and loads of time to tell the story. I can't do the patience thing, just tell me the story and DO IT NOW!! I'm a chapter book gal all the way.
I definitely need someone to tell me if it's time to let these old yellowed pages go. The store clerk was generous with his knowledge and went through the pile that I had. I have books from the 70's, 80's and 90's along with my amazing Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 8 & 9. I'm not a collector but I wanted that show to stay on the air forever.
As we sorted through the pile it was interesting to learn that every ding, dent, fold smudge and tear made a difference in the value. It's not like I want to sell them but I do want to know if they should be tucked away.
According to the clerk he wouldn't give this stack of old comics to a child, but I'm not going to take any extended vacations from the proceeds either.
Day 237 was entertaining,
