Day 100
This might be a tissue day. I know it was for me.
When I woke up this morning I was exhausted as I’ve been for the last 9 days. I had no plan for an adventure and I will confess it’s a struggle to continue this experience but something happened at the end of the day.
My mother, and biggest fan was also my adventure today. The idea came from my youngest kid and once he made the suggestion I loved it. I asked mom if she wanted to be part of day 100 and her reply was,”why not.”
Exactly... why not.
On my first triple digit day mom handed off the parenting torch and allowed me to read a bedtime story to her.
My mother, aka Nana, is an avid reader. As far back as I can remember books have been a part of my life. As a child, in the summer we would go to the public library and borrow books. I would pick the pocket sized hard covers and take them home to read. I will confess I liked to read but my retention isn't impressive. As I made myself comfortable beside my mother I started to read from "The tales of Beedle the Bard." A Harry Potter book. The stories I read were touching and my mother sat there occasionally closing her eyes. I hoped she was listening and when we got to the end I could tell from the tears that she heard every word.
Day 100 was a gift
